The SynergEyes Story
SynergEyes, Inc. was founded in 2001 with a goal to address a recognized market need by developing and launching a contact lens that offers better vision thereby giving eye care professionals a path to successful, happy patients. The technical platform that was chosen combined the superior visual acuity of a rigid gas permeable lens with the comfort of a soft contact lens. The patented technology, with market clearances worldwide, is today providing comfortable clear vision through the services of more than 7,000 eye care practitioners around the globe.
In September 2005, SynergEyes received FDA “clearance to market” for the SynergEyes A lens. Over the subsequent six months, the company received market clearance for six additional lens designs – including ClearKone® and SynergEyes® KC lenses for patients with keratoconus, the SynergEyes Multifocal lens for patients with presbyopia, and the SynergEyes® PS lens for patients with refractive errors following corneal surgery and trauma. These lenses were specifically designed for patients with irregular corneas.
In 2010, SynergEyes expanded the business beyond products for patients with irregular corneas into the mainstream everyday patient market. Today, SynergEyes manufactures and markets the Duette family of contact lenses for everyday patients seeking to upgrade their vision. Duette HD contact lenses are for astigmatic patients who are looking for a contact lens that delivers exceptional vision. Duette Multifocal lenses are for patients over 40 who are seeking great vision for every point of view.
For 2013, SynergEyes was proud to introduce SynergEyes UltraHealth the first hybrid contact lens with a high-Dk silicone hydrogel skirt. UltraHealth is designed to give your irregular cornea, keratoconus, and ectasia patients an unprecedented combination of superior vision and all-day comfort while helping to maintain eye health.
In 2018 HydraPEG coatings have come to give exceptional comfort by decreasing surface friction and enhancing deposit resistance.
The SynergEyes® family of lenses fulfills the original goal of providing a solution that addresses the full continuum of vision needs by providing excellent visual acuity and all day comfort. The company prides itself in being a partner with and advocate for independent eye care professionals and specialty contact lens fitters.
Now, new breakthrough technology offers the preferred choice. Hybrid Contact Lenses.
Lenses that make having to choose between vision and comfort a thing of the past.

Handling & Care
What to Expect: Vision, Handling and Care
UltraHealth hybrid contact lenses provide consistently clear vision throughout the day and offer all-day comfort by eliminating the discomfort, dislodging and debris issues associated with traditional rigid lenses. They are rotation symmetric so they don’t go fuzzy-clear-fuzzy like conventional toric soft or hard contact lenses.
You should expect a brief period of adaptation to become fully accustomed to the lenses.
Handling and care tips are below including instructional videos to help you on your way.
If you have any urgent matters please contact our practice on 07 33586566 or orders@markhindsoptometrists.com.au or text message Mark.

There is more than one way to insert your lenses. We recommend you pick the method that works best for you.
Always wash your hands with mild soap and dry them well before handling lenses. So you don’t get your lenses mixed up, it’s a good idea to handle them in the same order each time.
Place the lens on the inserter OR stabilize the lens on three fingers (see photo) by pinching together your thumb, index and middle fingers to support the lens.
Fill the bowl of the lens with Evolve PF, Viscotears Gel PF (UNIT DOSE ONLY) or preservative free saline.
SynergEyes recommends using preservative-free solutions with your UltraHealth lenses.
HOW TO INSERT YOUR LENSES

TOP INSERTION TIPS
Tip 1. To avoid bubbles, fill lens bowl up completely with Evolve PF, Viscotears Gel PF (UNIT DOSE ONLY) or preservative free saline. Bubbles may make lens uncomfortable and produce irregular vision.
Tip 2. Gently place lens on eye. As you insert the lens, the cornea will displace the saline and the lens will gently settle on the surface of the eye. If the lens is pushed too hard onto the eye, you may experience discomfort and lens fogging.

PRESCRIBED SOLUTIONS
We recommend the following solutions for use with UltraHealth and Duette family of hybrid contact lenses:
Please do not use any other solutions than these without talking to Mark. Based on individual needs, we may recommend additional products or procedures.
The recommended replacement schedule for your SynergEyes UltraHealth lenses is every six months.
*In some patients the tear chemistry may react with the hydrogen peroxide to cause a permanent white ring at the junction of the rigid center and soft skirt. This ring does not affect vision or comfort.
