The team from Mark Hinds Optometrists and Ophthalmic Trials Australia recently attended and presented at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology in Denver, Colorado.
ARVO remains one of the world’s leading scientific meetings in ophthalmology and vision science, bringing together clinicians, researchers, industry leaders, and innovators from around the globe to discuss the future of eye care and translational ophthalmic research.
This year’s meeting was an outstanding opportunity for our team to present collaborative research across ocular surface disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, ocular pain, and emerging therapeutic technologies.

Research Presentations
The team was proud to contribute to several presentations and scientific discussions, including research involving:
- Ocular surface disease and dry eye therapeutics
- Ocular pain and novel ophthalmic cooling technologies
- Meibomian gland dysfunction in contact lens wearers
- Recombinant human Proteoglycan-4 (rhPRG4 / Lubricin) for ocular graft-versus-host disease
- Translational ophthalmic clinical research and emerging interventional therapies
These projects involved collaboration with leading clinicians, researchers, sponsors, and institutions both within Australia and internationally.
Collaboration and Innovation
ARVO 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing collaborations and develop new partnerships focused on advancing patient care through ethical and high-quality ophthalmic clinical trials.
The meeting also highlighted the increasing importance of translational research — bridging laboratory science with real-world patient outcomes to accelerate access to innovative therapies in ophthalmology.
Representing Brisbane on the International Stage
We are incredibly proud to represent Brisbane, Queensland, and Australia on the international research stage and to continue contributing to the advancement of evidence-based eye care.
A sincere thank you to our collaborators, study participants, sponsors, and the wider ophthalmic community who continue to support our clinical and research efforts.
We look forward to continuing this work and bringing cutting-edge research and innovation back to our patients and community.
