Dr Rebecca (Bec) Kitson – Clinical Optometrist

Dr Kitson has completed her Masters of Optometry at QUT of which she finished in 2025, after successfully completing her bachelor of Vision Science degree in 2023. Dr Kitson has worked in the ophthalmological field for over 4 years in addition to her work in Dry Eye Disease (DED) specialised Clinical Trials both at QUT and Dr Hinds’ Clinical Trial practice, Ophthalmic Trials Australia. Dr Kitsons professional work and studies in both ophthalmology and Clinical Trials has given her invaluable experience and learning conditions for DED. Dr Kitson has worked for Mark Hinds Optometrists since 2024, gaining experience, learning administrative and investigational optometry. She has also integrated herself into a key role as Dr Hinds’ back-up in Ophthalmic Trials Australia. Dr Kitson has completed her training in E-Eye IRPL and is well versed in DED and its pathogenesis.
Dr Ally Stevens – Clinical Optometrist

Dr Stevens first started working at Mark Hinds Optometrists in May of 2022, since then has been putting her clinical skills learnt from her years of study to the test. Dr Stevens has integrated herself to becoming a key part in our dry eye team and works alongside Dr Hinds at Ophthalmic Trials Australia, in her role as pharmacy. This experience has helped Dr Stevens build a deep understanding of DED and its pathogenesis thoroughly extending her skillset beyond general optometry. Dr Stevens has also completed her E-Eye IRPL training and has many successful patients.
Dr Mark Hinds – Principal Optometrist

Our principal optometrist Dr Hinds is one of Australia’s leading practitioners in the space of DED and specialty contact lenses. Dr Hinds founded and now leads Ophthalmic Trials Australia as Principal Investigator (PI) and has many international publications and papers on his teams work in pharmacological interventions for DED (DED with and without autoimmune diseases). Dr Hinds and his team pool their clinical and research skills to present customised dry eye protocols/treatment plans for each patient, using tested and proven methods to find the most effective solution.
